Gastroenterology Physician

A well-supported hospital-based GI team in Northern New York is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for ongoing locum coverage beginning once credentialed. This opportunity offers predictable monthly scheduling, dedicated APP support, and a balanced mix of consults and procedures.

Assignment Details

• Start: As soon as credentialed (approx. 60 days)

• Assignment Length: May 2026 December 2026

• Coverage: 1 week per month

• Schedule:

  • 7-day coverage blocks (Monday Sunday)

  • 7:30 AM 5:00 PM daily

  • 24-hour call on select days within the coverage week (flexible scheduling)

Practice Setting

• Hospital-based Level III Trauma Center

• Established GI service line

• EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

• Elective endoscopy and colonoscopy

• Inpatient consult service (approximately consults per day)

• Rounding and consult coverage

• Urgent and emergent GI procedures as needed

• Collaboration with physicians and APPs

• Dedicated NP support

Requirements

• Board Certified Gastroenterology

• GI Fellowship trained

• Active New York medical license

• Active DEA

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
