ATC West Healthcare is seeking OB/GYN physicians to provide ongoing laborist coverage due to a shortage of employed physicians and midwives. This hospital-based opportunity focuses on labor and delivery services, emergency gynecologic coverage for unassigned patients, and management of both routine and high-risk obstetric cases. Coverage is needed as soon as possible and will continue until permanent providers are hired.

Shift Schedule
- Physician Coverage: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Midwife Coverage: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Physician Call Coverage: Available for midwife support from 7:00 PM 7:00 AM

Coverage Team

- 1 Full-Time Laborist Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)

- Midwife: Chardina Murray Mangino, CNM
- APP Support: 1 provider
- Nursing and clinical support provided by RNs and CNMs
Clinical Responsibilities
Obstetrics- Manage low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
- Evaluate and treat obstetric complications, including:
- Toxemia/preeclampsia
- Diabetes in pregnancy
- Chronic cardiac disease
- Chronic pulmonary disease
- Chronic renal disease
- Pyelonephritis
- Multiple gestations
- Routine vaginal deliveries
- Operative vaginal deliveries (including low forceps)
- Labor management and decision-making for cesarean sections
- Complex deliveries, including:
- Cesarean sections
- Breech presentations
- Multiple births
- Placental abruptions
- VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) management
- Repair of third- and fourth-degree perineal lacerations
- Emergency gynecologic coverage for unassigned patients
- Diagnostic and minor laparoscopic procedures
- Tubal ligations
- Lysis of adhesions (LOA)
- Chromotubation procedures
- Open gynecologic surgery
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Active Ohio medical license or willingness to obtain Ohio licensure
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Ability to independently manage routine and high-risk obstetric patients
- Experience performing vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, VBACs, and emergency OB/GYN procedures
- Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
- Prior laborist or hospital-based OB/GYN experience
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Comfort working in a Level III nursery environment
- Ability to manage complex obstetric and gynecologic emergencies independently.
