Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: The Surgical Services Equipment and Instrument Specialist provides expert clinical and technical support for assigned surgical service lines by ensuring all equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available, functional, and ready for use on the day of surgery. This role serves as a key liaison between Surgical Services and Supply Chain, supporting product evaluation, standardization, education, and operational efficiency across the OR environment.
What You Will Do
Ensure availability and functionality of standard and specialized surgical equipment and instrumentation
Serve as the primary liaison between Surgical Services and Supply Chain for equipment, instruments, materials, and disposables
Support product evaluations, trials, and standardization initiatives to improve quality and cost effectiveness
Coordinate with Sterile Processing, OR staff, physicians, vendors, and Supply Chain partners
Maintain and optimize surgeon preference cards
Provide education, training, and troubleshooting support for OR teams
Assist with inventory management, special orders, and equipment repairs
Participate in value analysis, utilization review, and sourcing activities
Scrub in on cases as needed to maintain clinical expertise and support staff development
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program with current CST certification required
Must be CST IV, Specialized CST, or higher per organizational CST ladder (Internal)
RNs with advanced equipment and instrumentation expertise will be considered
Expert knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and instrumentation
Experience with supply chain processes, inventory management, and preference cards
